Bemdac 180mg Tablet contains Bempedoic Acid 180mg, a prescription medicine used to lower LDL (“bad“) cholesterol in adults with hypercholesterolemia. It is commonly prescribed alongside a cholesterol-lowering diet and, when appropriate, other lipid-lowering medications such as statins to help achieve target cholesterol levels. Bempedoic acid works by inhibiting ATP-citrate lyase (ACL), an enzyme involved in cholesterol production in the liver, thereby reducing LDL cholesterol levels. Bemdac is particularly beneficial for patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) or atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) who require additional LDL cholesterol reduction despite receiving maximally tolerated statin therapy.
